In September of 1968, a group of African American officers took a stand against racism and discrimination. They did so to honor Officer Bryant and the ultimate sacrifice he made in service to the City of Los Angeles.
When these brave officers gathered, they did so with the intention of discussing the challenges they collectively faced and identifying solutions that would ensure a better future for those that followed.
This historic meeting resulted in the establishment of the Oscar Joel Bryant Foundation.
